9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. 10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. 11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. 12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. 13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.–John 15:9-13
In this increasingly dark world, we must realize that only the power of God will give us the necessary light to navigate through these dark and often confusing times.
Everywhere we look, there is news, reports, and other examples of the battle that we are in. And do not make the mistake of not realizing that this is a spiritual battle. That’s right, the things we see and are facing are spiritual in nature…regardless of who they may be coming through or from. Do not waste your energy fighting people, because people are not your problem…it is spiritual and we need to deal with it spiritually.
For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against persons without bodies—the evil rulers of the unseen world, those mighty satanic beings and great evil princes of darkness who rule this world; and against huge numbers of wicked spirits in the spirit world. –Ephesians 6:12 (Living Bible)
Because it is spiritual in nature, we must use spiritual armament and weapons to fight and defend. These weapons are not guns, knives, bombs, etc., but they are a life grounded in the love of God and used by the Word of God…shared among those around us. Even when using Faith, we must remember the Bible teaches us that: “…faith worketh by love“. –(Galatians 5:6).
In other words, we must allow the love of God to be the driving force in every arena of our lives. We must eat, drink, sleep and breathe love. There is nothing that God, through Jesus, has done for us that was not done in love. I did not say that He is the source of all of our experiences; but everything He does is done in and through love, “…for God is Love” (1 John 4:8).
Plainly put, it is time for ALL OF US to turn our focus on the love of God and not the troubles of our lives and this world. Only love can heal, forgive, transcend and bring peace. Without love, we can’t live a life that makes a difference to ourselves, to others or even please God.
So, let us turn to our Father, Who is Love, and allow Him to live in and through us totally!
Let’s Pray:
Father, help us to turn to you and turn everything over to you. Help us to allow you into our lives to the place your love will permeate every fiber of our being and flow to every aspect of our lives and to others.
In Jesus’ name…Amen!
