12 Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to appreciate those who diligently work among you [recognize, acknowledge, and respect your leaders], who are in charge over you in the Lord and who give you instruction…25 Brothers and sisters, pray for us.—1 Thessalonians 5:12, 25 (Amplified)
Tonight, our prayer focus is our Pastors. Whether we agree with them or not, if God has placed a Pastor or Spiritual leader in our lives, we need to be obedient to the call of God and pray for them. They need spiritual encouragement just like you. Ask God to help, guide and strengthen them. Don’t just stop with your Pastor, but pray for Pastors everywhere and their spouses and families as well.
Let’s pray…
Father, we lift up every Pastor everywhere. Help them to constantly seek your face as they serve the congregation(s) placed under their care. Tonight, we pray for a special spirit of grace upon them and that they recognize the responsibility that come along with the office. Help them to walk in integrity as your representative here on earth.
Help them administrate properly to fulfill the vision you’ve given them in the season and vineyard they are operating. Encourage their hearts and fill it with joy. Lift the burden of ministry from them and give them the support they need to do the job…as they cast their cares upon you. Let each know You as the great provider that will always take care of Your own…that you will supply all their need.
We also pray for their spouses and families tonight, that they will be encouraged and protected from the tricks and traps of the enemy. Help them in their walk with you daily. Let them know, along with the Pastor, that you have called them as a unit and love them all. I bind the spirit of confusion and competition within the marriage and declare that each will find and fulfill their call—individually and collectively. Let love prevail!
Father protect every Pastor from the tricks and traps of the enemy in the area of their carnal nature…help them to turn to you in times of temptation and trial. Protect every Pastor’s physical health and help them to take proper care of their Temple.
Help each in the area of prayer and study of Your Word. Give them insight and understanding—along with the ability to teach and share it with the people. Also, give them a heart of love for the people…the God-kind of Love.
We Thank You for these things, in the mighty name of Jesus…Amen!
