I know that this is not the traditional Easter message. But it is one that I believe need to be given and heard. As Christians, it is necessary that we take a strong look at our stance and behavior in this world.
In the world in which we live, and the current climate of things, people do not know who to believe or who to trust. But as Christians, that should never be the case. God has called us to stand out from the world, to know and to show the difference between right and wrong. God has called us to be a light in a very dark world.
Unfortunately, for many of us, that is not the case. Our witness is not only being marred by our lifestyle but also by our politics. We have resorted to finger pointing rather being living examples of Truth. Things have come to such a place in our society, that we have raised our opinion of things above the Word of God.
We fight for the things that we call right, but if there is something that we believe is not right, we are willing to demonize it and the people associated with all the force and vigor we have. What is unfortunate about this is, we are so busy fighting issues and people that we have forgotten that we are called to love.
It is with this, that we have shown ourselves to be no better then the Pharisees of old. We stand with a sense self-importance and self-righteousness, to such a degree that we feel and exhibit the behavior that we are better than others. God forbid!
If we continue to condemn and demonize people, we have placed ourselves in a position to be better than God.
Now, I know this is not a popular stance, but I believe it is a right stance. How are we going to show the world that God loves them, except the love of God flows through us to them? Isn’t this what Jesus died for? Isn’t this what he was raised from the dead for? How can we dare just say we love God, but refuse to show love for the people we live with, work with, and deal with every day…the same people Jesus loved and died for?
I love you all and these are just some of my thoughts on this Resurrection Day.

Pastor Sabastian, I agree. It took me years to realize that showing the love of God is the most important thing we do as born again believers. God loves us and showed it and we love others and show it. Thank you for your post on this Easter Sunday; timely and truth.
