Get into the Stream of God’s Word

jumpJesus answered by quoting Deuteronomy: “It takes more than bread to stay alive. It takes a steady stream of words from God’s mouth.”—Matthew 4:4 (MSG)

Spending time in the Word of God long enough to allow it to nourish us like natural bread would curb hunger, is what it takes to convince us of the power within it. Just as natural food is a sustainer of our natural selves…so is the Word of God for our spiritual selves.

To experience the wonderful fulness of God’s Blessing in our lives, we need a “steady stream” of His Word. For many, this may seem a ‘bit’ much but it is definitely worth the effort. We have no problem spending time with the many other things we fill our lives with that we deem important. But to tell the truth, the most important thing we can do for our lives and the life of those we love is to immerse ourselves in the Word.

God’s Word has the answer to everything we face in life. We do not have to succumb to the hurts, attacks and pitfalls of life. In other words, we do not have to just ‘take it’. We have been made an overcomer, and we need to get into the stream of God’s Word to live and to overcome this world and it’s system of fear, lack, prejudices, hate, sickness, etc.

There is no real answer for the ills of this life in the natural—we need to ‘Get into the Stream’ and have faith in God and His Word.
