Receive God’s Best Through Faith

Faith Sign“…According to your faith be it unto you.”—Matthew 9:29

Simplicity is the order of the day. When it comes to the gospel, things are really simple…it’s not complicated at all. men have complicated what was intended to be simple and easy to understand. What we must understand is: God has streamlined and simplified His will and His way for us through the sacrifice of His Son Jesus.

God intends every man to live by faith. The scripture declares: “The just shall live by faith.” So why is it so hard for us? I believe man has taken the word of God and complicated it with his own natural understanding. This is where the problem comes as we are trying to understand what God expects.

So, let’s take a look at this simple thing called faith. This scripture above in Matthew tells us that according to our faith whatever we need will be supplied. How can I say that? It’s simple. In the story that Matthew chapter 9 reveals, we see two blind man coming to Jesus and asking for mercy. If healing were not the will of God, then Jesus would have sent them on their way. But he did not do that.

Instead, Jesus asked them a simple question: “do you believe that I am able to do this?” Instead of condemning them for something they desired, he instead asked them do you believe that I am the one who can do this for you? Before we get to their answer let’s realize that this is a great object lesson for everyone…especially Believers.

If we’re asking anything of God, we must believe that we will receive what we’re asking for before we ask. There should be a certainty, a resolve, deep within us that God will not withhold good from us. The scripture tells us in Hebrews 11:6 that: “if any man will come to God, he must first believe that he is and that he is a rewarder to them who diligently seek him”. It doesn’t matter what we’re seeking or asking God for—salvation included. What matters is that we believe first! We must Believe in not only the power of God to move on our behalf but we must also believe in his willingness to do it.

In Matthew 7:7-12, Jesus gives further insight to God’s intent with this: ‘what man when his son ask for bread will give him a stone?’ And then Jesus follows that by saying: ‘if your natural father will take care of your needs how much more will your heavenly father take care of you?’ This is important to see. For if we neglect to see or understand it we will fail to appropriate god’s blessing for our lives.

Now, back to the blind men. When Jesus asked them did they believe that He was able to heal them, they said…yes. Then Jesus touched them, while saying: “according to your faith be it unto you”. What should that mean to you and I? Reading that, should say to us that the Lord heals, forgives, and provides Blessings of all types with only one requirement…believe or have faith.

I know many will scoff at that statement but it is our faith, not some religious effort, that brings us into the provision of The Lord. It is that same faith that positions us and allows us to receive from The Lord everything He has promised in His Word. He do not want us to be deceived or confused; but rather full of faith in Him as a loving Father who do not wish anyone to perish in any way but to receive the full benefit of His Loving power towards us and on our behalf.

  1. Sebastian says:

Amen! Our faith, which works through love, is the conduit through which the love of God flows to our world. When the world around us see God’s love at work in our lives, it makes Him attractive to them. We must live the life that draws and not repel.

When we believe before the fulfilment it can only mean we have conformed to Christ. Otherwise it would not be faith but psychological hopefulness! And when God gets the glory our faith has turned to praise. What comes to mind are the Christians whose walk is a survival course instead of an abundant life. And I agree, God keeps it simple because no matter how arrogant a thinker may be, the Realm of God is too vast. So God’s command to “Follow” is the simplest rule. And do it in love. Yes, Sebastian, simple is good, faith works and God be praised…
