Marriage Monday: Break the Wall

Wall Between CoupleFor Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us.—Ephesians 2:14

Today, I want to encourage every couple who are currently facing division in your relationship. If there is a wall between you, causing you not to communicate, it can be torn down.

Once, there was a wall between us and God which would have remained there indefinitely; were it not for the love of God shown in Jesus. God did not wait for us, He made the first move. God gave us an example for dealing with the challenges we face in our relationships. Though difficulties arrive, they do not have to remain. We have the choice to allow the wall to remain or not. Yes, the choice is ours and we do have the power to break down the wall that is dividing us.

When we are motivated by love, we will seek God for the answer to whatever we are facing. He knows what it takes…we think we know. If we will listen and obey, we will see the wall crumble—when it seemed impenetrable. We must start with love and end in love. Love will move you to forgive; love will move you break down the wall.

Remember, if God through Christ, broke down the wall separating us from Him—we can break down the wall between us and our loved one. Believe it and act on it!
