We Are Victorious!

jesus-gives-us-victoryI have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.—John 16:33 (NLT)

My friend, Jesus came to give us peace. Peace with God and peace within our circumstances. Yes, there will be many things that we will go through in life and some of it will be difficult…but that is no reason to give over to it or give up. We absolutely must find strength in the fact that regardless of the circumstance, the Lord has already gained and given us the victory!

We have cowered to life’s hardships for too long—it is time to stand up and “stand still and see the salvation of the LordExodus 14:13. I believe, the standing still part does not mean inactivity; but to exercise full trust and faith in the fact that our God is above all and has already given us the victory over all that would ever come against us in life!

We have given in to the pressures of things and circumstances long enough. It is time to take a stand against whatever is standing against us! We have the victory in Christ! It is to our advantage to call for and enforce the rule of God in our lives…He gave us the authority to do so. Jesus said: “Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you.”—Luke 10:19 (Amplified)

We must move in faith…in the midst of our storms…not in fear. Our faith has to be in God and the victory that He has given us. Fear is trusting that we will lose, that things will not work for us. Fear believes that good will not come to us and we will fail—it really is calling God a liar!

We do not call God a liar…for He cannot lie, and we are Believers! We believe against all circumstances which tell us we will not make it this time.

  • When we are sick…we believe we are healed;
  • When broke…we believe we are abundantly supplied;
  • When confused…we believe we have the wisdom of God; and on and on.

Therefore, my friends do no fall prey to the traps and tricks of the enemy…have faith in God, for He has given us the victory over all the circumstances of life!

  1. Thank you Sebastian for your uplifting message, we remember as you shared, we don’t walk alone . I have been going through some very hard times over the last few months but God showed me in a tangible way that He was very close. I have shared about my Scooter tire on my Blog but even on Sunday He answered my prayer for Mo-Joe one of our furry friends in a way that showed that He had intervened. I found this message from Paul below, yes here on earth we will have many trials and sorrows but we take heart as Jesus said because He has overcome the world.

    2Corinthians 11:24-31 Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches. Who is weak, and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not? If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities.

    What did Paul hold onto in his trials, the same as we do……..

    Isaiah 43:1-3 – Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour.”

    Jeremiah 29 :11-12 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

    Lamentations 3: 33 For God doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.

    Christian Love from both of us – Anne.

  2. nopew says:

    Of course our victory is never in human terms or by the standards of the world. My riches may come in basic needs, not surplus. My healing may not be in extended life but strength to complete the task God has set. That really “burns up” the enemy who can never touch the treasures we have in heaven (which includes the Realm of Heaven within us now)!
